Johnny Tapia

Johnny Tapia is a Mexican artist from Los Angeles, California. Born native of Guanajuato, Mexico he came to Los Angeles in his early years at the age of 9 not knowing English and getting right into school it was difficult to adjust. eventually years passed and found his way to what he knows and feels is his passion of Art all mediums.With over 5 years of professional tattooing of his career Johnny continues to grow as an artist. While always appreciating the feeling of creating art at a young age he began drawing using graphite and other materials that he had available at the time. Selling and doing artwork for friends and family for homework, project and other aspect this grew. His interest got bigger and his dedication to the craft, reading art books learning from seeing other artist work methods and applying them to his own style. Working with different mediums of art such as graphite, oils, charcoal,ball point pen, acrylic, and other materials he continues to create artwork for galleries and events around Los Angeles. Expanding his way to other cities and eventually states to display his work. Applying the artwork background that he has under his belt to his tattooing the transition at the time was a slow process as to he was starting off on his own with some help of friends. He started working at different tattoo shops to begin his professional career as a tattoo artist creating and perfecting his craft as he learns from other fellow artist along the way. His style is black and grey realism and currently working on implementing more color work into his tattoo portfolio. Continues to apply art styles and forms into his tattoos to give his best work he can produce. Conventions in the states and out are now being highly looked into to expand his tattoo work and making clients and friends thru out where his talents and career take him. Johnny Tapia would like to thank everyone that has been in his career path for all the lessons and opportunities he has been given as he continues his journey.
